bullet Albemarle Housing Improvement Plan, Inc.
bullet is a 501 (c)3 non-profit established in 1976. 
bullet Over the past 30 years AHIP has completed 775 housing rehabilitations, built 40 new homes, performed over 1150 emergency repairs (since EHRP was established in 1987), and has assisted 75 families in becoming first time homebuyers.
bullet is licensed by the State of Virginia as Class A Contractor classified in Building, Electrical, and Plumbing.
bullet Is certified and licensed by the State of Virginia as a Lead Based Paint Abatement Contractor.
bullet Employees 11 full time crew members, 8 administrative staff at the main office, 1 part time Volunteer Coordinator, and 3 administrative staff at our Park's Edge office.
bullet Is recognized and certified by the State of Virginia as a Community Development Housing Organization (CHDO).
bullet Purchased Whitewood Village Apartments, now called Parks Edge Apartments, an 8 building 96 unit complex in Albemarle County.  All the buildings have gone through complete renovations and remodeling. In addition, a new 4000 sf community center was built to bring social services and educational opportunities directly to the tenants.

bullet from Charlottesville--Route 29 North to U-Turn  at Fashion Square Rd (2nd mall entrance). Continue on Route 29 South, past Jiffy Lube, make first right on to Berkmar Drive. AHIP [2127 Berkmar] is on left between Robertson Electric and University Florist.
